Meet the Management Team at Megawattage
Michael Jansen– For over twenty-five years, Mr. Jansen has worked in the environmental and power industries in a variety of different positions. Mr. Jansen is the former Director of Business Development for a major global environmental and power consulting firm and has worked as a disaster recovery consultant throughout the United States, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Ukraine. He is a State of Florida licensed Pollutant Storage Contractor and a State of Florida licensed Electrical Contractor. At Megawattage, Mr. Jansen is responsible for the following: the company’s day to day administration and operation, business development, and the overseeing of many active field power projects. Generator experience with Caterpillar, Cummins/Onan, Kohler, Generac, John Deere, Volvo, Detroit Diesel, Mitsubishi, and Honda.
Timothy Puffer– 14 years experience in working with power generation and diesel engine servicing and maintenance. Generator experience with Caterpillar, Cummins/Onan, Kohler, Generac, John Deere, Multiquip, Whisperwatt, Volvo, Detroit Diesel, SDMO, Atlas Copco, Perkins, Baldor, FG Wilson, Honda. Current duties at Megawattage LLC include but are not limited to:
- Managing, dispatching and supervising generator service personnel
- Project Manager for installation and operation of power generation assets
- Schedules maintenance for all company power generation assets in the field
- Prepares service and repair quotes for clients
- Deploys to USACE Disaster Relief Missions and performs as one of the many mangers on site: Site Manager, Yard Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, Safety Manager, Quality Control Manager
- Assists in training new hires on power generation assets, maintenance and service, and troubleshooting
AL Brenner– 25 years experience servicing, maintaining, operating,testing and rebuilding diesel engines for automotive, marine and industrial power applications. In 2007, Mr. Brenner supervised the Megawattage crews that helped the State of Florida install industrial diesel generators for the Florida Special Needs Shelters Program located in South Florida. In 2008, Mr. Brenner supervised the service, installation and maintenance of over 300 FEMA’a generators for the Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Gustav’s disaster relief effort. In 2010, Mr. Brenner supervised all crews that assisted the State of Florida install industrial diesel generators for the Florida Special Needs Shelter Program located in South Florida. From October 2012 through January 2013, Mr. Brenner supervised the servicing maintaining, installation and operation of the FEMA diesel generators for the Hurricane Sandy disaster relief effort.

Jose Gutierrez– With over 20 years experience in the power generation industry. Mr. Gutierrez is highly experienced troubleshooter specializing in Engine/Generator , ATS and Switch gear controls. Jose has vast knowledge on both sides of generation system as he is highly proficient in both mechanical and electrical systems. He has worked in all facets of the business from generator sales, service and rental to installation and maintenance. He has performed several peak shaving and paralleling projects with major utility companies ranging from 1-100MW. He has deigned, built and retrofit various control systems. Jose also has extensive experience in temporary emergency power systems and disaster response. He has worked for Caterpillar, Generac, Kohler, and Onan Dealers as well as Aggreko and the Dept. of Defense. He holds certifications from Caterpillar, Generac, Kohler, Lakeshore, Asco, Zenith, Siemens, Deep Sea, Isuzu, John Deere, Ingersoll Rand, Power Lynx, and ETI.
Mrs. Puffer has nearly ten (10) years of experience in disaster response logistics, including coordination of communication, air travel, vehicle rental, hotel accommodations, and orientation meetings for team members mobilizing to a given location from varying points across the nation. Mrs. Puffer has developed long-term, professional relationships with clients, employees, and local business vendors for oil, fuel, filters and engine parts. She has also acted as a Safety Manager during disaster relief efforts, conducting daily safety meetings and enforcing Megawattage LLC safety standards on-site. Mrs. Puffer is a State of Florida licensed General Contractor and the Company Qualifier. Mrs. Puffer is OSHA 30 certified.
